Fencing Camp

Grand Rapids Fencing Academy has quickly earned a reputation in the Great Lakes Section for the quality of its weekend training camps which are held quarterly. Designed for the intermediate and advanced fencer, GRAFA camps focus on the preparation of youth fencers for the USFA Summer Nationals. Each camp builds on the knowledge of the previous session.
Maestros Mikhail and Arkadiy Sarkisov, the head coaches of GRAFA, are the instructors. Both Maestros hold a BS degree in Physical Education and are accredited Master’s of Fencing. Arkadiy also holds a degree in Physical Therapy and is trained in Sports Medicine. Mikhail and Arkadiy have been developing fencing in the Grand Rapids Metro area since 1993; and in 2005, the United States Fencing Association (USFA) named Mikhail “Developmental Coach of the Year.”
We invite fencers ages 16 and under to join. Fencers will be divided into two age groups: “15-20” and “14 and under,” or by fencing experience. Camp enrollment is limited and has consistently reached maximum enrollment several weeks ahead of the event date, so we encourage you to register your child early. Families of members of Grand Rapids Fencing Academy will host out-of-town campers providing accommodations and meals.
A parent or legal guardian must sign the registration forms for his or her child. If the parents are unable to accompany their child (for example, if they are carpooling) then the parents must download the Camp Waiver form and Pool Waiver form (pool waiver only required for summer camp), print and complete them, and send them with their child.
